Awesome !

What a great app ! Need an undo ...

Great music creating app

This app is great. It looks cool and is fun to play. There are plenty of great features. You can create a custom scale by eliminating certain notes. This makes it easier to freestyle and stay in tune. It also lets you do fun things with sampled sounds. There are plenty of instruments and effects. There are some great videos showing off what the app can do. Look at them and see for yourself. Ive tried several other music making apps and this is the best Ive found so far.

One of the best

This app is by far the most versatile music app I have used for creating and recording music on the iPod.

Advanced Toy for DJs

Nice idea, although not recommend for serious musicians

Toy not tool

I have been (trying) to use this app for the last several months. While fun to use, I find it is very frustrating in its lack of ability to create real music. It is very easy to make small mistakes that ruin the whole loop that you are working on and there is no way to go back and unravel what youve done. Overall a neat sketch pad, but maybe not worth the money and effort if you really want to make music.

Cool, but step sequencing much needed

Quite innovatove tool for electronic music, but 2 major features are missing: iPad version (would be a real joy to play ona much larger surface!) and step sequencing for tight drum patterns.

Samples need a lot of work

Nice concept for the interface, but the samples are terrible. You need to rerecord these. I dont see anyway I could use this when I play live, due to the fact that the samples sound very crunchy, like they were all recorded through a mic rather than a direct line.

Good start, needs more features.

This is a great start, but there are alot of features it still needs, like import/export, a mixer section, undo function, and an effects section.

Powerful, fun, polished

With apps like this we are really beginning to see the power of the iPhone. The interface is great, I found it to be very intuitive and without reading any of the documentation I was creating music in minutes. That being said, I did eventually take a quick glance at the documentation which seems to be well written and thorough. I threw on my headphones and spent a couple hours playing with this yesterday. Great job guys!

Fluid

Future is going to be stellar for this app. Right out the gate the workflow is fluid and unique. With small tweaks and additions this interface will own for unique composition! Very pleased.

Great for all levels of musicians!

Im a novice musician, so I was shocked by how easy and quickly it was to create awesome sounding loops. The sound quality is great and I found the interaction to be very intuitive. One of my favorite features is the sampler. You can record audio from the iPhone mic and overlay it onto your loop. Very easy to drop hours at a time playing with this app. Im looking forward to seeing whats next. Highly recommend!

This is a piece of art....

The beauty of this app is in its elegance and smooth workflow. Its great for coming up with complex grooves in full orchestration...on the flyI You can even chop samples like it was made of butter. I can imagine one day it will run on a full sized tablet computer and be even more superb! While I can notice some performance hiccups here and there, it does not prohibit the creation of beautiful melodies, loops, rhythms, or basslines.... even here at version 1. Cant wait for more!!

Perhaps a good start

Not too impressed with this app - especially for the relatively high price. I agree with other posts that say the samples sound pretty cheesy. Aside from one drum set, there are no "normal" instrument sounds. Great app for amusing my 3 year old grand-daughter, but not sure about its value as a music app.

Oh my oh my

Truly excellent work here. They took the kaossilator and improved upon it both in terms of functionality, ease of use, and depth of possibilities. If these guys include a way to edit synth parameters, a delay and a filter effect, and the ability for the beat cut feature to start the loop at beat 1 when released, this thing will be truly deadly. It would also be nice to save projects instead of depending on the loop bank. For anyone who enjoys music apps on the iphone this is clearly a must have. Truly fun and intuitive.

Creative and Fun

I am just starting to explore this great new musical activity. I love the tutorials from Retronyms. For a novice in electronic music, these are very helpful. I have learned to use the different instruments in DopplerPad, can create a loop and am looking forward to putting my first piece together. I know that I will have hours of creative fun using DopplerPad.

Excellent musicians design great app!

Intelligent and smart design, these guys get my tip of the hat! This program demonstrates ingenuity, impecable configuration, and talent both as musicians as well as developers. Ive completely lost track of the last few hours since I downloaded it, thats how clever this is. With intuitive GUI, loops can be created practically professional sounding. Plus, user can build off what has been done already with reasonable control of the mixer. Some items on the wish list: undo/redo commands, import/export loops, more real-time mixer controls, better quality voices. Excellent Job Guys!!!

One of the few great apps

This app is definitely worth the price, it takes the iPod/iPhone platforms tools and uses them efficiently, giving you a great music creation tool in a small package. A few small details, such as the app crashing on the first load after the first update, a lack of import and export options and other small things keep me from giving this app 5 stars

$9.99? not yet..

definitly a good start but this more in style of a "dj" toy than what I thought itd be a production tool. I agree with other reviewers that the sounds are pretty horrible.. there much improvement that can happen there. Also it would be nice to add quantizing, deletion of single notes and parts instead of the entire timeline.. and a mixer. I also dislike the way a sound overlaps during recording. makes it more difficult to record clean. hope u guys can make this app worth the $9.99 your charging with future update.

Not so hot

This thing doesnt really do much when you get right down to it. Seriously needs an "undo" option, because if you mess something up you have to redo the whole loop. Not worth 9.99 at this time...

The search is over.

I make music professionally. I tried alot of different iphone sequencers. This one is best so far. However it does absolutely need these 3 things: 1. Metronome and quantize. 2. The amazing graphical sequencer should maybe flip over to show the notes in a piano roll so I can tweak in addition to the current erase on the fly ability. 3. Export midi, export audio. 4. *** put selected loop into a sampler(optional)
